Upper Midwest Lacrosse Officials Operating Policies 2004

 

Adopted January 17, 2004

 

Executive Committee

  1.   Executive Committee will meet approximately quarterly.

  2.   General membership shall generally be invited to Executive Meetings.

 

Dues

  1.   2004 Dues shall be $50 per official for any official working a significant number of games at the high school level (JV) or above. Youth (U-16 and below) and new officials shall pay $10 in dues.

  2.   Deadline for payment of dues is January 31, 2004 . Officials working exclusively high school games may be given an extension.

  3.   It is intended that a T-shirt similar to the 2003 version will be included with the dues this year ($50 level only).

 

Membership Requirements

  1.   10 hours of classroom training will be expected of each member. Every attempt should be made to complete the classroom training prior to their first assignment.

  2.   All officials must be USLacrosse members before their first assignment.

  3.   All officials must complete a written rules test. Generally, the COC test from USLacrosse is used. All officials, including COC, shall submit answers to the training coordinator.

  4.   Have a valid email address that they check regularly.

  5.   Input and update contact info rmation and availability on the assigning website.

  6.   Sign up for a minimum of one standing UMLOA committee.

 

Recruiting

  1.   All members are responsible for growing the number of officials.

  2.   The Membership Committee may ask members to speak to various groups to assist in recruiting.

 

Evaluation

  1.   UMLOA representatives shall work with the assignors to evaluate officials for potential playoff/post season games.

  2.   UMLOA shall attempt to assign a mentor official to all newer officials.

 

Miscellaneous

  1.   A UMLOA member must represent the organization at all Minnesota Lacrosse Association meetings and activities.

  2.   At least one UMLOA member should attend all MBSLA meetings.

  3.   The UMLOA shall develop a website either on its own as part of a related organization.

  4.   Unless otherwise noted, meetings will follow Robert's Rules of Order.

            5.   The contact info rmation provided by the UMLOA is

           considered property of the UMLOA. No member shall  

           distribute the list in whole or in part. No member shall use

           the info rmation in the list for purposes not approved by the

           UMLOA.
